Welcome back friends. If you’ve been following along this week, you know I’ve been sharing about how you can sponsor a child in Uganda through Future Hope Ministries, a ministry started by our pediatrician, Dr. Laura White, and her family.
Earlier this week, I introduced you to Praise, Gift, and Jovin and Jonah.
I want you all to know that all of the photos I’ve been using this week for this series are of the actual children living at SASCU. Many (if not all) were taken by Molly, Laura and Mark’s teenage daughter. She blogs about her love for these kids at Love Little Hands.
Molly is the same age as the young girl I’m going to share with you today for sponsorship. Her mother told me that her heart is already in Uganda. It’s likely she will move there as soon as her parents will let her. She visits SASCU with her family as often as possible.
Molly understands what it means to love. It’s obvious from the pictures she shares and the words she writes on her blog. She is such an inspiration. I hope you’ll stop over there to see. Start here. Then click over to here to read the love letters she has written to some of the children. I’m going to share a portion of one of her letters below.
Molly says a lot about love when she writes this to Witness:
Dear Witness,How are you, love?I remember last October, when you would stay by my side, hold my hand, and hug me.I remember the way you would say quietly, “Will you take me to America with you?”I remember it breaking my heart every time you asked that, whispering back, “I wish I could.”I remember the day we left, you were one or the only kids around, hugging you tight and saying “I’m gonna miss you so much,” and trying not to cry.Coming very close when you said quietly, “I’m gonna miss you, too.”
It’s easy to see that hearts are connected here. That’s what love does — connects hearts. Love hopes. People like the Whites and the staff at SASCU understand that. They live it.
By partnering with them, we get to participate in that kind of love. We are in essence saying — we love you, therefore we will hope and believe and never give up on you. And they believe us. And because of that perhaps they hope and believe and never give up either.

Meet Iryn.
Aketch Iryn is 14 years old and in Senior 2. Her favorite subject in school is commerce. She also likes dance and drama. Iryn is a jolly but serious girl.
Iryn is the second born of 5 children. Her father suffered from mental illness after trauma inflicted by the LRA rebels in Northern Uganda. Her mother moved to Kampala with her children and resorted to sex trafficking to buy food. In doing so she was infected with HIV. Iryn loves music and dance and met children from SASCU at a music festival. The next day she showed up at SASCU looking for a home.
You can sponsor Iryn with a monthly gift of $50, made through Paypal — they make it so simple.
Will you prayerfully consider sponsoring this precious girl, or one of the others in need, today?
