Our family was blessed recently to accompany Dad on a business trip turned vacation to Florida. It seemed fitting, given that this is “F” week for Blogging through the Alphabet, to share a few of our Instagram pics. Enjoy!
F is for the friendliest place on earth — Disney World. We only spent one day — at Magic Kingdom — but it was a day full of fun. I think Ben rode every roller coaster at least 5 times. And Momma here, well, she rode them all with him at least once 🙂
F is for happy faces — I snapped a shot of this one in the car as we entered the park. It’s probably my favorite picture of the entire trip.
F is for good friends. And we are blessed with many. But these are very speical because they drove several hours to come spend time with us. Those are Kelli’s boys. You know Kelli, right? She blogs at Homeschooling Adventuez. If you don’t know her, you’ll want to take a moment to go meet her. Tell her I said, “hi!”
F is for fresh ocean air. After the work was finished in Orlando, we headed down to Hutchinson Island and spent a few days at Jensen Beach. I love the beach. Maybe more than any other place on earth. Even Disney World.
F is for new friends. Ben is always great at making new friends when we’re vacationing. He and Max were inseparable for two days. The had so much fun together!
F is for flips. These college kids were wonderful with Ben, including him in their pool play. A couple of them could do amazing back flips and then spent some time helping Ben learn, too.
F is for field trips. Because you know we fit at least one of those in! The Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center was amazing. Lots of hands on learning going on here. Completely privately funded, friendly staff, and just beautiful.
F is for fruit. Florida citrus to be exact. We discovered Al’s Family Farms on our last trip to Florida. Thankfully, citrus is just coming into season, so we stopped to buy tangerines, navel oranges, and grapefruit on our way home. Oh, and fudge. Key Lime fudge. It’s so yummy!
F is for food. Because you have to eat. And eat we did. We ate some great bbq at the restaurant owned by the resort where we stayed in Orlando — seriously, really great bbq (and I’m picky about these things).
But the best food I ate surprisingly was at the little grill next to Al’s Family Farm. It was Tamale Tuesday. I like tamales. Especially on Tuesday.
Just one more pic to show you — and it wasn’t even take in Florida — it was taken atop Stone Mountain in Georgia, on our way home from Florida.
F is for fearless. Or maybe conquering fear. Neither Ben or Dad were anxious to accommodate my request to ride the skyride to the top of the mountain. But they both conquered their fear of heights and came with me anyway. I love this shot of Ben standing on top of his little world that day.
