Inspiring Gift Ideas for C. S. Lewis Fans

I’m a huge fan of C. S. Lewis. I have been since I was a teen and read my first Lewis book — The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Over the years, I’ve added my of his books to my list of books I’ve read, and of course, now, a few movies. Some of my most quoted sayings come from his works, and now Ben has also fallen in love with the works and words of C. S. Lewis. It was inevitable really.

Clive Staples Lewis was a British novelist, poet, academic, medievalist, literary critic, essayist, lay theologian, broadcaster, lecturer, and Christian apologist. He held academic positions at both Oxford University and Cambridge University. He was quite a remarkable man. One worthy of our respect and admiration.

Two dates in November mark both Lewis’ birth (November 29, 1898) and death (November 22, 1963). Did you know that C. S. Lewis died on the exact same day as President Kennedy? Actually within an hour. Just a little trivia for you that you might not know. The news, of course, was much consumed with JFK’s assassination.

Anyway, I thought November would be a good month to share some fun gift ideas for those people in your life (young and old) who are also big fans of C. S. Lewis.

Here are some of my recommendations for gifts for yourself or someone you want to bless with a thoughtful present.

Inspiring Gift Ideas for  C. S. Lewis Fans

C. S. Lewis: The Signature Classics Audio Collection

A collection of Lewis’ most popular and most inspiring writings — Mere Christianity, Screwtape Letters, The Problem of Pain, and The Great Divorce — in audiobook format, my favorite way to “read” Lewis.

The Chronicles of Narnia Boxed Set

I was well into my adulthood before I discovered that The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was only one book in the Narnia series. Don’t make the mistake of missing out on the entire Narnia series, especially when introducing Narnia to your children.

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe DVD

The day my favorite childhood book became a movie was so memorable for me. It was made even more special by being able to share it with my son, who was maybe 5 or 6 at the time. We have since watched this DVD over and over. Narnia is a magical place. Be sure to share it with your children.

A Year with C. S. Lewis: Daily Readings from His Classic Works

Who can’t use a daily dose of C.S. Lewis? In this book, you’ll find a thought-provoking excerpt from one of Lewis’ classic works to ponder for every day of the year.

C. S. Lewis — A Life: Eccentric Genius, Reluctant Prophet

If a biography of Lewis is on your list of must-haves, this is the one to read. Very well researched and detailed, but also very readable, I haven’t felt the need to read other Lewis biographies after this one.

C. S. Lewis at War: The Dramatic Story Behind Mere Christianity Audio CD

When I was getting close to introducing my young teen to Mere Christianity, I piqued his interest by first giving him this radio theatre audio CD set. The setting of the drama is during WW II, and is based on the radio broadcasts that later became Mere Christianity. Also included is a dramatic reading of Mere Christianity.

“Dream” Framed Artwork

This lovely framed wall art combines a popular Lewis quote — “You are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream” with Scripture from Jeremiah. A great gift for someone beginning a new job or project, or making a life change a little later in life.
Lewis Quote Wall Decal

A daily reminder of the importance of remembering what lies ahead for all who believe. This lovely decorative wall decal is perfect for a family room or home office of your favorite Lewis fan.

Courage, Dear Heart Glass Dome Necklace

This sweet Aslan quote encased in a glass dome pendant is on my list of favorites for fun and inspiring jewelry. The low price indicates it is probably made overseas and shipping will take extra time. So keep that in mind.

Lewis Quote Wooden Sign 9×12 inches

This lovely wooden piece is available in several colors. It is one of my favorite Lewis quotes, too. Made and shipped in the U.S.A.

A Year with Aslan: Daily Reflections from the Chronicles of Narnia

In the tradition of A Year with C.S. Lewis, get your daily dose of inspiration from this one-of-a-kind devotional collecting 365 readings from the beloved Chronicles of Narnia.

I hope you’ve found plenty of Lewis inspiration on this list. I know I have. And please, do share with me your favorite quote from C. S. Lewis in the comments.

Here are some of my recommendations for gifts for yourself or another fan of C. S. Lewis you want to bless with a thoughtful present.
