Happy New Year’s Eve!
It’s hard to believe that 2012 is ending and 2013 is upon us. Like most of you, the approaching new year has me thinking back to the past 12 months AND looking forward to the next.
One thing I dislike is that gnawing feeling that I didn’t do enough. Or even tougher to swallow, that I didn’t record enough of what we did do.
Time to make resolutions, right? Ummmm . . . no.
While I’m not one to make resolutions for the new year —  I do like the idea of setting goals to meet. I know you’re wondering what the difference is, right? Well, while similar in that I will be thinking about those areas of my life in which I need to improve, setting goals is more about the process and less about the end result.
For example, a resolution might be to “lose 25 lbs. in 2013.” But, the goals would be to eat more fruit, drink more water, exercise 3 times a week, etc.
See the difference?
I’ll be sharing more about my goals, both personally and as a homeschool mom on Wednesday, but I couldn’t let “P” week in Blogging through the Alphabet go without telling you about this one — Project Life.
Have you heard of it?
Project Life is a simple way to scrapbook — no messy glue, no fancy scissors, no complicated tools that cut, crop, or otherwise alter your photos. Just a simple kit of items that make putting together a scrapbook so simple, that even I can do it. The last time I “scrapbooked” the old-fashioned way was for Ben’s first year. While I treasure that book very much (and so does he), it was super time-consuming to do and therefore, years 2-12 have nothing but a pile of photos in boxes and on my hard-drive.
What you need to complete a scrapbook
Super simple, right? I can’t tell you how excited I am to get started with this!
I placed my order tonight after talking at length about it with my sweet friend, Candace, over at His Mercy is New. Candace has been keeping memories with Project Life for two years now. It was on her blog that I first became aware of this product and began drooling over her lovely scrapbooks. She has triple the number of kids I do, and she promises me that it’s easy to catch up if you get behind. That’s a system I can get behind (no pun intended).
There are several “kits” from which to choose, and it was tough choice, but I ended up with the lovely Cherry Core Kit and 3 sets of Photo Pocket Pages — Design A, Design C, and Design G. The Binder is not available right now, but i’m counting on them getting more in!
So, my goal is to complete one 2-page spread in my Project Life scrapbook every 2 weeks and link up with The Mom Creative every 2 weeks, too.

The Mom Creative

I hope that completing this scrapbook and using our Memory Jars will help us be able to look back at the end of 2013 with much more thanksgiving, a few smiles and a lot of laughs.
Now that’s a resolution I can live with.
How about you? What goals or resolutions are you considering for the new year? Let’s chat in the comments!
