The Word Study: Defining a Biblical Worldview — The word study involves more than going to a dictionary to define a word. It is the method of scholarship that puts the student on the pathway of developing the habits of reflective thinking and deductive reasoning from Scripture. The word study places the truths of God’s Word at the center of all learning, which illuminates the understanding and consecrates the mind.

Teacher Defined in My Own Words:
Biblical References:
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; If service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching. Romans 12:6-7
Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity. Titus 2:7
My Thoughts:
I am also to be earnest and model what is expected, just like Jesus did. Because here’s the catch — according to Luke, a student will be like his teacher. Good or bad, this is the truth. And this is where I fail every day. I also noticed that in the passage in Luke, the term “disciple” is used, rather than “student.”
I believe these words are interchangeable when it comes to homeschooling. We are charged with discipling our children as homeschool moms. It is our job to prepare our children for whatever God’s plan is for their lives. This is both an academic and spiritual charge.
