Ben would tell you that science is his favorite subject. He would also tell you that we don’t do nearly enough science experiments. The reason for that is that I find science experiments to be a hassle. Gathering together supplies, shopping for those things you likely don’t have around the house, the mess. I don’t like dealing with it all. And the worse part are the questions. Ben always has questions that I simply don’t know the answers to. Not that it’s a bad thing for him to have to research these answers, but it can be frustrating when even the information he reads is unclear or confusing.
I was so grateful to be introduced to Amazing Science! from ScienceAndMath.com! Amazing Science is a 2-DVD set of 23 science experiments, teaching the fundamentals of science, including electricity, magnetism, heat, temperature, pressure, surface tension, buoyancy, and more!
For every experiment demonstrated, a complete materials list is included and you can see the experiment from different camera angles so you can see what is happening.
A fellow crew mate compiled the list of materials for each experiment into a PDF document. You can download it here and see just how simple these experiments are. Don’t be fooled though, they are very effective at teaching the targeted concepts!
The items needed for most experiments can be found around the house or can be easily added to your grocery list.
Most are easy enough for your child to do independently or with minimal supervision.
The experiments are all quick and easy, and the results are fun to watch!
