Our school principal (Dad) requested a mini unit study on the U.S. Census after receiving our census forms to complete.  We have a couple of days this week where it’s easy to work this in, so I’ve been out and about the web finding resources.  Here’s what I have found so far, in case you’re interested in exploring this interesting topic with your kids.
U.S. Census Kid’s Corner here you’ll find state-by-state census information.
Census for Kids printable coloring pages, word finds, a memory game and quizzes
Census in Schools lesson plans for K-grade 12 for census info in the U.S. and it’s territories, from Scholastic.  this is actually pretty cool, with lots of activities and notebooking pages to make the census come alive!
History of the Census   I think this one is self-explanatory
Census Fact Sheets  from Scholastic
And here are a few books I’ve found that I think will work nicely with this unit.
