Funny . . . I had juicing written in my calendar for my J word. I thought I’d be further along in my journey to begin actually doing it. That’s what I wanted to write about — how wonderful juicing has been for my health. But I haven’t even bought the juicer I want yet.

At first, I thought perhaps I should just come up with a new word, but honestly after the blogging marathon I had last week, I don’t have it in me to come up with another word. So I’m just going to share about juicing anyway! And later, I can update you on all those changes in my health {hopefully}.

J is for Juicing. I’ve gotten back into the swing of things with my daily green smoothies. But I think I want to add daily juicing in as well. With fresh, organic vegetables, of course. There are a couple of benefits to juicing, that you can’t get with smoothies:
  • Juicing works better for cleansing and healing. It gets those nutrients straight to your body without having to go through the digestive process that smoothies must go through because of the fiber.
  • Increased vegetable nutrition. While I do generally add spinach to my smoothies, I’m not crazy about other vegetables in them. Juicing vegetables (with some added apple) will hopefully get all of that vegetable nutrition to my cells quicker.
  • Juices are a good way to “cleanse” your . . . ahem . . . digestional tract.
I did buy this juicing book and it is so beautiful. I love reading through all of the recipes and I can’t wait to try them.

Now to save up for the juicer I want to buy, so I can really get started! Oh, Santa!
