One of our very things to do in Washington DC is eat at Marrakesh, an authentic Moroccan restaurant in Chinatown. Tom and I have eaten there several times, but this would be Ben’s (and of course, Whitney’s) first experience there. As we were leaving the hotel, a former co-worker of Tom’s was arriving at the hotel for a meeting. So Dan came to dinner with as as well.
The menu includes 7 courses. Every course was delicious. Even Ben and Whitney enjoyed most all of it. The decor of Marrakesh is just beautiful, with brightly colored walls, ceilings, and furnishings. Most every course is eaten with your fingers. We began by having our hands washed….
Then comes the first course, The 3-Salad Platter: Cooked Eggplant in Tomato Sauce, Cucumbers and Bell Peppers in Mediterranean Seasoning, and Oasis Carrots in Coriander. This course is eaten by scooping up the veggies with bread.
