I have shared several times here on my blog about Future Hope Ministries. This ministry, operated by our own pediatrician, Dr. Laura White, and her family, cares for more than 80 former street kids in Uganda.

You can read more about these kids and Future Hope in my series, Helping Children in Uganda, and on my introductory post to Future Hope Ministries.

One of the ways this ministry thrives and survives is through their child sponsorship program, whereby a family can sponsor one of the children at a cost of $50/month. I realize that can be cost-prohibitive for some, so please know that they will accept any monetary donation. Seriously friends . . . every penny helps.

I’m sharing again today some exciting news! Future Hope Ministries has begun a brand new school sponsorship program that is more affordable than the traditional child sponsorship.

In May, Future Hope Ministries began a primary school for their kids, and they opened it up to the children in the community.

When I say community, please understand that what I mean is the slums of Kampala. This is where the poorest of the poor live. And because education is NOT FREE in Uganda, most of these children would never be able to receive an education without the help of Future Hope Ministries and the generous families who support them.

The School Sponsorship Program is just $20/month.  For that amount of money, two children in Uganda can receive a Christ-centered education and two meals each school day.

Without an education there really is no way for these children to escape this extreme poverty. There is little hope for a bright future without an education in Uganda, and while this is a small amount of money for school tuition by American standards, it is prohibitive for most families in the slums of Kampala.

Sponsors of the community school children have the opportunity to feed the mind, body, and spirit of  two children for just 67 cents a day. I cannot think of a better investment than that.

Are you the hope these children need? Contact Future Hope Ministries to begin your sponsorship today.

I never recommend a product I would not use myself.
