I’d like to introduce you all to our new friend, Flat Stanley. Stanley is visiting us from Georgia. Two sweet little girls, Evamarie and Emma, along with their big brother, William, sent Stanley to visit us in Kentucky for awhile.
Stanley is helping Evamarie and Emma learning more about geography.
Here is a map of Kentucky. Frankfort is the capital of Kentucky. Kentucky’s nickname is The Bluegrass State.
Today, Stanley traveled with our family to Nashville, TN. Here is a map of Tennessee. Tennessee’s nickname is The Volunteer State. Nashville is the capital of Tennessee!
We will be having a lot of fun this week visiting some cool places in Nashville. Today we just hung out at our hotel, The Opryland Hotel. It’s a huge place. Ben thinks it looks like a train station–like Union Station in Washington, D.C. Take a look at what Stanley (along with Ben and I) observed today! (look closely Evamarie and Emma . . . you’ll see Flat Stanley in some of the pictures!)
The hotel is divided into 3 sections–Cascades, Magnolia, and Delta. The lobby is in the Cascades section–this is where we checked in. I loved this stained glass ceiling . . .
We are staying in the Delta section, which is very convenient because that’s where most of the action is. There are fountains and waterfalls and shops and restaurants, beautiful gardens, a river (with fish) and a riverboat . . .
Oh, Evamarie and Emma . . . don’t worry about Stanley getting lost. Ben has a special place to carry him . . .
We’re back in our room now. The boys are tuckered out . . . well, accept Stanley. He’s still pretty awake!
One more thing I wanted to show you. It’s the carpet outside our room. It has dragonflies. I heart dragonflies.
