10 Gift Ideas for Your Pastor’s Wife
Gift Certificates or Gift Cards
I’m not a huge fan of gift certificates or gift cards, unless they are very specific to the interests or passions of the receiver. So think about what your pastor’s wive loves and treat her to a gift certificate or gift card for that. Some ideas might include: a spa day or massage, Starbucks, a restaurant she loves, a local bookstore, or her favorite clothing store. Do stay away from general gift cards to stores such as Wal-Mart or Target (unless you know she absolutely LOVES shopping there).
Gift Baskets
I love to put together a great gift basket. The possibilities for this are endless. You may be tempted to put together something for the entire family here (ie: a family movie night), but try to resist that temptation and instead, put together a basket just for her. Here are a few ideas:
- Aromatherapy Basket: Does your pastor’s wife love essential oils? Put together a gift basket with some favorite essential oils (such as lavender, jasmine, geranium, chamomile, peppermint, rosemary, lemon, and orange), along with a diffuser, roller bottles, carrier oils, and a great book. Or subscribe to an essential oils recipe box for her! My favorite company for buying essential oils and accessories is Simply Earth. Use the code: MARCYFREE when you subscribe to their monthly recipe box and you’ll receive a $40 gift certificate!
- Bath Basket: I don’t know many women who don’t love a great basket filled with sweet-smelling bath products. One of my favorite companies for this is Philosophy.
- Tea Basket: If your pastor’s wife is a tea drinker, treat her to a basket filled with special loose-leaf teas, a tea diffuser, electric tea kettle, and lovely tea cup. I buy all of my loose-leaf tea and accessories from Adagio Teas.
- Chocolate Basket: What woman doesn’t love chocolate. If you have a local chocolate store, you can probably purchase a lovely basket pre-made there. If you don’t, you can never go wrong with Godiva.
Journaling Bible
I know what you’re thinking. She’s a pastor’s wife; her house is filled with every Bible imaginable. And while they may be generally true, journaling Bibles are new-ish on the scene and she may not have splurged on one yet. Now if your pastor’s wife is not a fan of writing in her Bible, this is probably not a great idea, but if you have a creative, journaling, adult coloring book-loving pastor’s wife, she will love one of these beautiful journaling Bibles.
Worship CD or Music CD
Do you know your pastor’s wife’s favorite artist or type of music or her favorite artist? Then she would likely appreciate a basket filled with CDs. Add some nice ear buds and/or a wireless speaker.
Devotionals or Books by Christian Women Authors
Is your pastor’s wife a big fan of Priscilla Shirer, Anne Graham Lotz, or Lysa TerKeurst? Perhaps, there’s another author she quotes often or can’t wait to host a book study for. Putting together a book basket filled with the latest books from her favorite authors is sure to bless her. One of my personal favorites for Christian fiction is Liz Curtis Higgs. Or you could really splurge and buy her a Kindle with an Amazon gift card to choose her own.
Prayer Box
“My Prayer” cards are part of the Prayer Cards in Tins collection. This beautifully designed tin holds prayers for the woman s praying heart who may be struggling to express herself to God or who desires more support. The sweetly decorated white colored floral tin with gold edging stores fifty prayer cards.
Paid Tickets to Women’s Conference or Retreat
Most pastor’s families are not rolling in the dough. Attending a women’s conference or spiritual retreat may be out of the budget. Giving her the opportunity to attend will both bless her and give her the much-needed renewal she likely needs.
