Give thanks with a grateful heart.
Give thanks to the Holy One.
Give thanks, because He’s given, Jesus Christ, His son.

I love that song.  We sang it last week at co-op, and our pianist played in worship last Sunday.  It soothes me, and reminds me of all I have to be thankful for.  There are so many gifts I’ve been given.  I can’t even begin to count them all, but here is my feeble attempt at those I see as the greatest of them all:

  • I am thankful for my husband.  He works hard to provide for us.  He works hard at home as well.  He loves us, snuggles us, does special things for us, and has put up with me for over 13 years of marriage.  That makes him almost a saint.
  • I am thankful for my boy.  This precious child, who loves his mommy more than anything, makes me laugh, makes me cry, makes me wonder, makes me smile. And always makes me hope.  He made me a mommy nearly 10 years ago.  He is my dream come true.
  • I am thankful for my mom.  She is there just enough.  She says just enough.  She loves and supports us however we need.  Just enough.
  • I am thankful for friends.  I mean real friends.  The kind you laugh at, cry with, tell your secrets to, and that pray, wish, listen, hope, and stand up for you.  Always.
  • I am thankful to belong to a church that honors God, loves each other, and is there for each other no matter what.  Lakewood is special.  And we all know it.
  • I am thankful for the blessings of homeschooling.  I can’t imagine any other life for us.
  • I am thankful for our co-op families.  For the blessings of children who make me smile and parents who work hard to make our Fridays the best.
  • I am thankful for abundance.  We have been given much. So much  more than I ever dared to dream.
  • I am thankful for opportunities to serve and be served.  To minister and be ministered to.
  • I am most thankful for Jesus, the One without whom there would be no hope.

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.
1 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
 2 Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.

3 Know that the LORD is God.

It is he who made us, and we are his
