In my life this week…
Ben and I began working in a ministry with Burmese refugees this past Sunday, teaching ESL and just loving on some adorable children. What a blessing!
In our homeschool this week…
We’re taking the week off “official” school this week while Dad is home on vacation. Plenty of life skills are being taught though . . . you know, the boy stuff, like how to change the car battery, rotate tires, clean out the garage, etc.
Meanwhile, I’m getting a break from homeschooling.
There’s a lot worthwhile about that.
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
When dad is home, take the day or week off from official homeschooling and allow real life to teach.
I am inspired by…
My co-op mom friends. I’ve never been surrounded by so many amazing, Godly, humble, completely sold out, women. They inspire me, encourage me, and teach me.  So much.
My favorite thing this week was…
Valentine’s Day. I made heart-shaped eggs in a basket, Ben bought a flower for a friend, and I received a gorgeous orchid. And chocolate. There was lots of chocolate.

What’s working/not working for us…
Ben and I recently began reading/using Kay Arthur’s book, How to the Study Your Bible for Kids. Love it!
Questions/thoughts I have…
Can Santorum make it happen??
Things I’m working on…
My health. I recently started a new blog, Bought with a Price, where I am chronicling my attempts at eating a more healthy diet to both lose weight and treat my Lupus symptoms. There, I am hosting a 90-Day Weight Loss Challenge. Come join us!
I’m reading…
Raising Real Men: Surviving, Teaching, and Appreciating Boys. I’m also participating in the book club at the Mob Society.
I’m cooking…
Black Beans and Rice, Veggie Soup, and a new Purple Smoothie!

I’m grateful for…
His love . . .

I’m praying for…
So many things. God’s direction in our home and homeschool, friends who are broken, friends who are celebrating, friends who are hurting, our nation as we move toward the presidential election this November, my heart to grow more and more like His, orphans, healing, forgiveness, restoration . . .
A photo, video, link, or quote to share…
“Mom, could you buy me some videos games from back in the late 1900s . . . like PacMan or DonkeyKong.” ~Ben
