Hello there, faithful friends! I wanted to take a moment to publicly say thank you for your comments, Facebook and Twitter messages, and emails. Your kind, supportive words inspire me and your questions motivate me to learn more about this juicing thing. I am still in the infancy stage of studying through the massive amounts of information!

There are two books that are helping along my journey. For your convenience, they are linked on the sidebar of the blog. For those of you reading via RSS feed or email, here are the names and links:

The Juicing Bible

Juicing, Fasting, and Detoxing for Life

Since the beginning of this fast, I have craved tomatoes, but every time I went to the grocery store and looked, the tomatoes just didn’t look that great. I’ve been so anxious for summer tomato season! But, just the other day, I saw some in the organic aisle that actually looked pretty good. Last night I juiced them with a ton of other ingredients — so many, that it completely hid the tomato flavor — not what I was looking for at all. So, today, I toned it down a bit and just juiced a total of 6 ingredients. With the addition of a pinch of salt, it was exactly what I wanted. I call it V-7 Juice. I hope you enjoy!

Here’s the recipe:

3 tomatoes
1 rib celery
1/2 English cucumber
2 carrots
small handful parsley
1 yellow bell pepper, seeds removed
1 sm. lemon, peeled

Juice and enjoy! This recipe made about 6 cups of juice for me.

Here’s a tip for you: If your juice seems a little too bland, just like with eating fresh veggies, a pinch of Real salt can make all the difference. Please don’t use the highly processed iodized table salt of your childhood! I don’t always add salt to my juices, but it was perfect for this one. Worried about salt? Real Salt is not refined and contains more than 60 naturally occurring trace minerals. It is good for you and the flavor is amazing!
