The Juice Fast (Day 22) C is for Carrot, Cucumber, Celery, and Confession

I’m still trucking along, grateful to a most gracious God that I’ve made it to day 22 of this juice fast. But I have a little confession to make — I took the day off of the fast for Easter Sunday. The days leading up to the Easter were becoming more and more unbearable. I was losing my desire to continue fasting and was becoming very discouraged by that.

So I took a break and ate food. And you know what? Today, I did not wake up with regret. I woke up with renewed determination. I am back on tract today, and feel confident I will complete the next 20 days of the fast. So actually, I suppose I should call this Day 21.

Now for the carrot, cucumber and celery part of the story —

Over the past 3 weeks, I’ve tried many different combinations of juices. Some have been absolutely delicious, others . . . well, I choked down. There are 3 vegetables that have become very consistent in my juicing diet. I lovingly refer to them as the 3Cs.

Pretty much every time I make green juice, it contains both cucumber and celery. And my other favorite juice is generally carrot-based.

Celery, Cucumbers, and Carrots all contain amazing nutrients that make them popular in juicing. Here are some graphics to give you better idea:

Here’s a tip for you — all 3 of these are mild-tasting foods and carrots are slightly sweet. Add plenty of all 3 to your juices on a daily basis, especially if you’re having difficulty adjusting to the organic tastes of green juices. Even making a juice with just these 3 ingredients is delicious and refreshing.
