We love games at our house! In fact, we set aside Fridays as our “fun school” day and very often these days include playing games.

Sometimes, I surprise Ben with a “game day” when I am not feeling my best. Honestly, there are days I declare game day simply because I don’t have anything else planned for the day. Or if we’re just having a particularly difficult day (everyone has bad days, right?), I can usually salvage the homeschool day with a few games.

So, here is a quick list of our favorite, go-to, educational (usually!) games that fill our game closet. It’s not a list of every game we own. That would take awhile to put together. But these are the first games we reach for.

Word Building and Language Skills
Scrabble Jr. and Scrabble Slam
WordPlay for Kids
Bananagrams
Apples to Apples Jr.

Here’s a little hint for you. Almost all of these games have been purchased for my son as Christmas and birthday gifts. He loves receiving them and I love that I can take something he sees as a gift and use it for homeschooling!

What are some of your favorite educational games?
