This is my 2nd installment in what I think will become a regular thing: Lessons in Saving Money. You can read my first installment here.

Today we’ll discuss finding free resources for homeschooling. If you are anything like me, money is always just a bit tight and finding fabulous resources for FREE is practically a must in order to continue homeschooling.

So here are a few of my favorite go-to websites for FREE stuff:

Homeschool Share literally hundreds of literature-based unit studies, lapbooks and more, all written and contributed by homeschool moms. My favorite!

Guest Hollow (Our Los Banos) written by a homeschool mom, you’ll find a full year’s worth of science and history lesson plans, math, language arts, and science printables, and more. Excellent!

Oklahoma Homeschool homeschool forms, lesson plans, unit studies, timeline. Excellent!

Donna Young lots of homeschool printables, handwriting pages, schedules and planning pages.

Head of the Class this is a new website that looks pretty exciting. It’s a full curriculum that eventually will offer K-8th grade (currently only K-2 is available). You’ll find all subjects here, completely free.

Timez Attack if you have kids in need of practice with multiplication tables, then this might be what you need. Ben loves it. They do have an application that costs $40, but we use the free basic version with no complaints.

Book Adventure created by Sylvan Learning, here your kids are encouraged and rewarded for reading. Basically they read a book, take an online quiz, and earn points and prizes.

Love to Learn Place my favorite book report forms are here.

And now for a few of my favorite sites with printables and thematic units. Most of these sites offer some things for free, but charge a yearly fee for full access. I have, at one time or other, subscribed to all of them. Currently, I have a membership to ABC Teach, which I highly recommend.

ABC Teach

Enchanted Learning

Ed Helper

School Express

This is just a quick sampling of some of my favorites. If you have others, please feel free to leave a comment and share your links!

Ben and Me is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com. This site contains links from a number of other affiliate programs as well. If you click on these links and make a purchase, I may receive a commission. This does not cost you any more, and it helps cover costs associated with running the website. I am very picky about the products I recommend and the companies I support. I never recommend a product I would not use myself.
