Welcome to 5 Days of Homeschooling for Free, a 5-part series. For  5 days, I am sharing a subject by subject list of free resources you can use in your homeschool!  Yesterday, I shared U. S. Geography with State Maps and Travel Guides. Today, I am sharing a great list of FREE living history books. If you are a Charlotte Mason homeschooler, you will especially love this list of historical fiction.

I will readily admit that one of the inventions I am most thankful for in the past few years is the Kindle. I hesitated at first to buy one because I’m such a book lover, it offended me a little to have a bunch of books on an e-reader. I couldn’t imagine that I could enjoy reading from a Kindle as much as holding a real live book in my hands.  I am so thankful I got over that and made that first purchase. And then another one for Ben. He loves his Kindle, and I love having literally hundreds of books at my (and his) fingertips.

One of the first things I did was scour the free Kindle books for a list we can use in our homeschool. Living books are very important to the way we homeschool. While we very much delight-directed Charlotte Mason type homeschool here, so having a plethora of books is necessary.  I hope you enjoy and utilize this list of more than 80 G. A. Henty historical fiction books, as well as a few other books, you can use to teach history in your homeschool!
