What a blessing today has been for our family. Ben woke up this morning and ran to our Easter Garden right away. He found that HE IS RISEN!
Next came our traditional Easter egg hunt. Every year, Ben wakes up to find eggs (and other treats) hidden all over the yard.
After the Easter egg hunt, we all went to Easter service, my mom included. The service was a precious celebration of the Resurrection with praise, worship and communion.
After lunch, Mom, Ben and I took a Sunday afternoon drive to find the gravesite of my great-great-grandfather. I had never been there and Mom had not been there in years. Her Granddaddy was Mom’s favorite. In fact, I am named for him. We found the old cemetary easily and took a few pictures.
The weather has been beautiful, flowers are blooming, Spring is in full force. It’s been the most perfect Easter Sunday I can remember in a long time. I have so much to be thankful for. My life is exceedingly rich with blessings. But today, as we all pause to remember, I am most thankful for a Savior who bore my stripes, suffered and died for my sin, and rose again. He is risen. He is risen indeed.
