Ben and I have been hard at work this week, turning our former guest room/office into our new school room. In the past, I never really had the desire for a school room. We just did school wherever….kitchen table, family room sofa, deck, park, everywhere! But this year, Ben is doing more work using his desktop (Amanda Bennett unit studies, Download N Go, Teaching Textbooks, Time4Writing, etc.), so it made sense to center our homeschool around his computer. Besides, he was borrowing my laptop far to much 😉 We’ll still go to the kitchen table for larger or messy projects.
I’ve always loved looking around at other blogs, at the homeschool room pictures, so just in case someone might want to see what we’ve done with ours, I’ll share our pictures. The room is almost a perfect 12×12 square. We aren’t bringing all of our bookshelves into the school room, there are far too many. So our “library” will remain in our formal living room, and just the books we’re planning to use for our current school year will be in there.
It’s still a work in progress. You’ll notice the closet is still empty. The closet is now full!
I’m also still looking around for a good idea for how to use the wall space above the sofa. I’m thinking perhaps a timeline. I just haven’t been inspired by anything yet. So if you have a timeline you just love, please share!
So here are the pictures…enjoy!
