Last summer, my husband bought a lovely rosebush for our yard. But he never did get it planted. It lived out on our deck for most of the summer and all of autumn. When it started getting cold outdoors, we brought it into our kitchen to keep alive until it can be planted in the spring.
Yesterday, we were blessed with a beautiful 8 inch snowfall. It really is gorgeous outside and the snow is perfect for building a snowman or tossing snowballs. It wasn’t even that cold out, and there was no wind. Ben played in that snow for hours and hours. It was just perfect…..unless….you’re restless for spring, which I am. And now that we’ve had this wonderful winter gift, I’m more anxious than ever.
Then yesterday, during lunch, my husband looks down at the rosebush, resting on the floor, near the window, and notices this lovely surprise….
And today, this precious little bud opened up as well…..
Isn’t it just like our amazing Heavenly Father to give us the perfect gift at just the moment we need it? Nothing could be more precious than a beautiful snowfall backdrop to a gorgeous pink rose! And just in time for Valentine’s Day. I feel very loved.
