As a part of our home learning, Ben is memorizing 6 Psalms in their entirety this year. In our first session, he memorized the 23rd Psalm. Today I presented him with Psalm 8 to start memorizing.
He also started Upward Soccer last week and has one Bible verse to memorize each week. He has a poster with each week’s verse and it is his responsibility to read the verse for the week and have it memorized by his practice on Friday.
So anyway, today when I presented the 8th Psalm to him, he sighs and asks, “why can’t it just be ‘For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life?'”
Since we are concentrating on the Old Testament this year, that verse was one we had not memorized as of yet. So, of course, I asked him where he learned it. Again with the sigh and he responds, “it’s on my soccer poster.” I look over at his poster and it’s the verse for week 6, not this week, which is week 2. Apparently, he has already memorized all 10 of his weekly memory verses.
I’m thinking the 8th Psalm shouldn’t be an issue.
