Last year, I introduced a grateful challenge with my first Grateful Journal. Thousands of you downloaded it (thank you!), and many of you have already emailed or messaged me to ask if there would be a journal for 2016.
The answer is YES!
I am excited to present this year’s Grateful Journal. It is very similar to last year’s Journal, only this year I have added a monthly grateful Scripture to encourage you, and for you to use for memory work if you wish to. In fact, I’ve added memory cards that you can print on cardstock or laminate.
Who is willing to join me in being grateful in 2016?
Beginning on January 1, you will see posts in social media — Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram — where I will share those things for which I am grateful. I would love for you to join me. We will use the hashtag #Grateful2016 to find and encourage each other.
In addition to keeping a daily Grateful Journal and posting on social media, I will be blogging weekly (every Friday) on the topic of gratitude. I can’t wait to see what God does with that! I am praying often already that He will be glorified in this effort. I’m not always the best at sticktoitiveness, so this will challenge me greatly.
I have created a Grateful Journal so that you will have a place to record blessings—big and small—God has poured into your life every day. The journal is a powerful tool you can use to honor the commandment to give thanks in all circumstances:
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
The concept is simple. Just write down one thing for which you are grateful each day. At the end of the year, you will have recorded 365 beautiful blessings, and memorized 12 grateful verses.
