I know that the key to getting a handle on my health and weight-loss goals, is to get a handle on my spiritual goals.
Last summer, I began the Made to Crave book/Bible study, but never did finish it. I really want to do it again, and this time put forth the effort to glean from Lysa Terkeurst, the author.
So on May 1, I will begin again over on my other blog, Bought with a Price.
If you would like to join me in this study, please purchase Made to Crave (the book) and the Participant’s Guide. We’ll begin the book/Bible study on May 1. This is a study that will last for 6 weeks, with 6 days of homework each week. You’ll notice that the Participant’s Guide also has a group session feature. There is a video that goes along with that. If you want to purchase the video and Participant’s Guide together and get together with some friends once a week, that would be great and will likely grant you some added motivation, but you can just do the individual daily personal Bible study. And that’s what I’ll mostly be blogging about. I do wish I could gather you all together and do it as a group in real life though!
Here is a description of the book from Lysa’s website:
Craving isn’t a bad thing.Has food become more about frustration than fulfillment?Made to Crave is the missing link between a woman’s desire to be healthy and the spiritual empowerment necessary to make that happen. Author, Lysa TerKeurst, personally understands the battle that women face. In Made to Crave, she will help you:
- Break the cycle of “I’ll start again on Monday,” and feel good about yourself today.
- Stop agonizing over numbers on the scale and make peace with your body.
- Replace rationalization that lead to diet failure with wisdom that leads to victory.
- Reach your healthy goals and grow closer to God through the process.
This book is not a how-to manual or the latest, greatest dieting plan. Made to Crave is a helpful companion to use alongside whatever healthy eating approach you choose — a book and Bible study to help you find the “want to” in how to make healthy lifestyle changes.
My promise to you is that I will blog my thoughts and reflections EVERY day about this study over at Bought with a Price. Well, 6 days a week. Not on Sundays.
If you would like to follow along, I would love for you to come and comment on the blog with your thoughts each day as well. We can also take the discussion to the Facebook page.
My prayer is that this study will help us all begin to lead healthier lives by make our spiritual lives healthier first.
I hope you’ll join me! Please let me know how I can be be praying for you each day.
