Ben’s been waiting for months for today. This snow loving child begins planning for the next big snow as soon as the spring blooms are on the dogwood out back. He loves snow! Only this year, we’ve had the mildest winter weather in my memory with only a couple of dustings. Most of winter has felt like spring.
Just 3 days ago, it was 70 degrees and tornado warnings had us huddled in the basement. In fact, tornadoes ripped through towns all around us. leaving behind destruction, devastation and death. For the past few days, Ben has spent more time on his bike than in a coat.
But this morning, we awakened to find about 3 inches of snow had graced our lives. Beautiful, soft white snow. It won’t last long. The forecast for today is sunny with temps in the low 40s. The rest of the week calls for temps in the 50s and 60s.
But for today, we will relish in the beauty, make snow angels, maybe even get out the sled. And be thankful that winter finally came to Kentucky. Even if it is March.
